1. Introduction

VoxRoute ("we", "us", "our app") is a voice-first driving assistant application developed by Bcloud Consulting, registered in Barcelona, Spain. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application. By using VoxRoute, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Important: VoxRoute requires access to sensitive permissions (precise location, microphone) to function. These permissions are essential for the core functionality of providing real-time contextual information while you drive.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

What we collect: Your device's location while using the app.

When we collect it:

• When the app is open and active (foreground location access)
• When the app is running in the background, if you have granted "Allow all the time" permission (background location access)

Why we need it: To provide contextual information about your surroundings and nearby services while you drive.

What happens if you deny this permission: The app cannot function without location access. You can choose "Allow only while using the app" instead of "Allow all the time", but you will need to keep the app open on your screen while driving.

How we use it: Location coordinates are sent to our backend server and third-party services to retrieve information about your surroundings. Location data is processed in real-time and is NOT stored permanently on our servers.

2.2 Audio Data (Voice Recordings)

What we collect: Audio recordings of your voice when you give voice commands to the app.

When we collect it: Only when you activate the microphone. We do NOT record audio continuously.

Why we need it: To understand your voice commands and provide spoken responses.

How we process it: Audio recordings are:

• Transmitted securely via encrypted connection to our backend server
• Processed by our AI system to understand your intent and generate a response
• Deleted immediately after processing - we do NOT store audio recordings on our servers

2.3 Device and Technical Information

What we automatically collect:

• Device information: Device model, operating system, app version
• Performance data: Crash reports and error logs

Why we collect it: To diagnose technical issues, improve app stability, and optimize performance.

2.4 User Preferences and Settings

Stored locally on your device:

• Voice and language preferences
• App settings

These preferences are stored locally on your device and are NOT transmitted to our servers.

2.5 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT require account creation or personal identification
• We do NOT collect your name, email, phone number, or address
• We do NOT access your contacts, photos, or other media
• We do NOT track your location history or store historical routes
• We do NOT use facial recognition or biometric data
• We do NOT sell your data to third parties

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

3.1 To Provide Core App Functionality

• Process voice commands and generate contextual responses about your surroundings
• Search for nearby services (gas stations, restaurants, hotels, etc.) based on your location
• Provide real-time narration about landmarks, cities, and points of interest as you travel
• Generate natural-sounding voice responses using text-to-speech technology

• Fix bugs and improve app performance
• Develop new features

3.3 Legal Compliance

• Comply with applicable laws
• Respond to legal requests when required

4. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We share your data with the following third-party service providers who help us operate the app. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

4.1 Third-Party Service Providers

What we share: Audio recordings (voice commands) and location coordinates

Purpose: To process voice commands and provide location-based information

Data processing: All third-party providers are GDPR-compliant and process data as data processors under our instructions. Audio is processed in real-time and is NOT stored.

4.2 Our Backend Server

What we process: Voice commands and location data to provide app functionality

Data retention: Data is processed during your active session only, then automatically deleted. No long-term storage of personal data.

Security: All communications are encrypted. Server access is restricted and monitored.

4.3 We DO NOT Share Your Data With:

• Advertising networks or ad tech companies
• Data brokers or data aggregators
• Social media platforms
• Insurance companies or financial institutions
• Employers or government agencies (except when legally required)
• Any other third parties not explicitly mentioned above

We DO NOT sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

5.1 Encryption

• Data in transit: All network communications are encrypted
• Data at rest: Local preferences stored on your device are encrypted using platform-standard encryption

5.2 Data Minimization

• We collect only the minimum data necessary for app functionality
• Automatic deletion of data after processing

6. Data Retention and Deletion

6.1 Real-Time Data (Not Stored)

• Location coordinates: Processed in real-time, never stored on our servers
• Audio recordings: Deleted immediately after processing
• Voice transcriptions: Deleted at end of session
• Session data: Automatically deleted after your session ends

6.2 Temporary Data

• Technical logs: Retained temporarily for troubleshooting, then automatically deleted. Logs do not contain sensitive personal data.

6.3 Local Data on Your Device

• User preferences: Stored on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data

6.4 How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your data at any time:

• Uninstall the app: All local data on your device will be automatically deleted
• Request data deletion: Email sam@bcloud.consulting and we will confirm deletion of any server-side data

Note: We don't store most data permanently, so there is very little data to delete.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Rights Under GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

• Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal data

8. International Data Transfers

VoxRoute is operated from Spain (European Union), and our backend servers are located in the EU. However, some of our service providers may be based outside the EU.

Legal basis for transfers: Data transfers outside the EU are protected by:

• EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework: Service providers are certified under the Data Privacy Framework, providing adequate protection for EU data
• Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Our agreements with service providers include EU-approved SCCs as an additional safeguard
• Data localization: Where possible, data is processed and stored within EU data centers

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

VoxRoute is NOT intended for use by children under 18 years old, as it is designed for licensed drivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at sam@bcloud.consulting and we will delete the information.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.

How we notify you of changes:

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. For material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email if provided.

By continuing to use VoxRoute after we update this policy, you agree to the updated terms.
